Before: the initial cooking

Virginie Bouvard Virginie's old kitchen was all in wood and quite rustic, which is not very modern. But above all, it was very dark. The blogger's goal was therefore to renovate the room so that it was in tune with the times and brighter. However, the space had many very practical storage spaces, which had to be kept.

After: immaculate new cuisine

Virginie Bouvard Virginie has given a new lease of life to her kitchen by repainting all the existing storage space in white. She used a special satin white paint to renovate 3-in-1 kitchen furniture from the V33 brand, purchased from Castorama. This model is without stripping and without undercoat. The credenza (Castorama) and the oak worktop (Leroy Merlin) modernize the room.

Add color to the room

Virginie Bouvard Small budget obliges, the kitchen tiles have been kept as they are. It gives a slightly retro look to the space, which goes very well with the geek universe. This flooring also brings color and warmth to the room. The closet door handles have been replaced with beech knobs. If some have been left "raw", others have been painted in golden yellow to bring a little decorative touch!

The art of sobriety

Virginie Bouvard If you have a fairly assertive style in your interior, the golden rule is to decorate your rooms with small touches. Virginie understood this well, since she distilled small decorative objects here and there in her kitchen, like this little character hanging on her hood.

Exhibiting collections

Virginie Bouvard If you are a collector, rather than storing your treasures in a closed cupboard with double towers, exhibit them! You will share it with your guests and you will enjoy it more yourself! In her kitchen, Virginie's passion for animated cinema is expressed through her collection of cups and teapots derived from films from Disney or Pixar studios.

Invest every corner of the room

Virginie Bouvard If, like Virginie, collectibles overflow, use the top of the cupboards to display them. But remember to make the dust from time to time! The blogger adores directors Tim Burton and Hayao Miyasaki, which is why we find in particular figurines of the characters from the film * The Nightmare Before Christmas *. For a more retro look, she also placed old toys.

A comfortable seating area

Virginie Bouvard The open kitchen opens onto an adorable and cozy seating area which replaces the traditional dining room. We can already imagine watching a good movie on the leather sofa! The stickers stuck on the wall as well as the vintage coffee tables were bought on Initial Deco.

A vintage decor worthy of a museum

Virginie Bouvard Virginie had the good idea to hang a display of postcards on the wall. A good way to decorate a section of wall without multiplying the photo frames or damaging the objects by fixing them. Here, we only find cinema cards, of course, as well as an old film projector filmed, still in working order!

Save space and light

Virginie Bouvard There is no separation between the living room and the kitchen, and for good reason, the old wooden "accordion" door that sat between the two spaces was dismantled to have more space and also more light. . Successful bet !
